Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Raval is a charming little spot in Staten Island with a warm, romantic atmosphere. It’s on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it. The cocktails were fantastic—especially the coconut mojito, which was perfectly balanced and refreshing. The beet arugula salad was just okay and leaned a bit heavy on the vinaigrette. The filet mignon, however, was insanely tender, and the Wagyu skirt steak was incredibly juicy, paired with truly impeccable fries. We also ordered the creamed spinach and cauliflower as sides—great additions, even if not over-the-top. Overall, a wonderful dining experience and definitely a place we’ll return to. Thank you!"
"Came hear for Wedding Anniversary. Great food, and top of the line service! We ordered the Porterhouse for 2, wagyu skirt, mashed potatoes, chili shrimp, and homemade Cavatelli lobster mac n' cheese. Taste of each dish was superb. Save the chili sauce from the shrimp to dip your bread, and even steak into as it is delicious!"
"For my birthday, I chose a steakhouse I'd previously enjoyed. They offer a party menu for groups of 7 or more, with a great value "Good Life Menu" for $90 per person. Adding $15 per person allows for unlimited wine for two hours. They serve in a family-style style, so all the dishes on the menu are served (according to the number of people). The service was excellent; drinks were constantly refilled, and there was no charge for cutting the cake (unlike many restaurants need to charge for cake fee). Overall, it's a highly recommended restaurant, perfect for celebrations and gatherings with friends."
"We celebrated our anniversary at Raval Steakhouse, and everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. We shared a Ribeye steak, oysters, creamy spinach, crab mac & cheese, and bone marrow every single dish was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The steak was tender and juicy, the sides were rich and delicious, and the oysters were incredibly fresh. The service was exceptional our server was on point the entire night, attentive without being intrusive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was cozy yet upscale, perfect for a special occasion. We truly enjoyed every moment of our dinner here and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Raval to anyone looking for a top notch steakhouse experience!"
"An elevated setting in Staten Island close to ferry and train, and it has a parking lot. We were motivated to try it out during restaurant week. Food was outstanding, especially the shrimp cocktail. Drinks were spectacular. Service was truly top notch. Definitely recommending!! I’m bringing everybody here even though it’s expensive- worth it!!!"
"If you love a great steak, this is definitely a place to check out. It’s a very cozy and charming spot. I thought it was really interesting that the restaurant was transformed from what used to be a body shop or storage space — they kept the fancy glass garage door, which I believe still opens up in the summertime. Such a cool touch. You’ll definitely want to make a reservation. The menu is on the pricier side, but that’s pretty standard for a good steakhouse. We ordered the aged porterhouse for two and the Australian skirt steak. One thing to note (and it’s not just here) — steaks don’t come with sides. We added mashed potatoes, spinach, and onion rings. The spinach could use some improvement. It was cooked with cheese and a bit of sauce, but once it cooled down it became stiff and not very pleasant to eat. The mashed potatoes were just average. The onion rings, though — highly recommend! You get about four or five large, fluffy rings with sauce on the side. Perfectly crispy outside, slightly sweet inside — absolutely delicious. I’m not usually a big beef person, but I was honestly impressed. We ordered the steaks medium rare, and they were cooked perfectly. The seasoning was just right, the doneness spot-on, and the meat incredibly tender. The porterhouse for two was definitely the star of the table — honestly, I think it could easily feed three people. The Australian skirt steak was excellent as well. We also tried the beet and arugula salad, which was just okay. Most of the cheese was stuck to the bottom of the plate, and the dressing was a bit too sour for my taste. I probably wouldn’t order it again. The staff was friendly, attentive, and provided great service. Some dishes and drinks even come with a little entertaining touch, which makes the experience more fun. Overall, I’d definitely come back!"
"Came for a girls night with 3 of my friends. Phenomenal experience! Valet was available. The ambiance was perfect. It was dimly lit and very lively; every table was filled. The service was spectacular. We loved every dish and every cocktail. Coconut espresso martinis - to dieeee for. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Honestly right up there with the best steakhouses in Manhattan. We stayed till closing - we were not rushed to leave whatsoever. Thanks for a great night..can’t wait to come back!"
"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Went to Raval Steakhouse for a birthday dinner and it was a great choice. The space has a dark, warm, intimate vibe that feels upscale but still comfortable. Oysters were fresh with a smoky spicy kick and a squeeze of lemon set them off. The shrimp in that rich buttery sauce with fresh bread was ridiculous. Steak had a perfect hard sear, juicy inside, seasoned right, and the steak frites with chimichurri were on point. Even the grilled romaine had great char and flavor. Service was smooth and attentive without hovering. Solid spot for a real grown date night. Definitely coming back."
